I'm controlling my urge to be really snarky about this, because I really do think it's grand that someone is finally paying attention to this particular vector of parent-child fucked-up-ness transmission. (It's one close to my heart.) But with that said, well... fucking duh!

It would be inappropriate for me to post here what icarus' mom made me feel about my body wouldn't it? It was certainly a deep feeling.
But seriously, I think it's a good thing they're studying this kind of stuff. Any time issues like body image issues hit mainstream media, I hope that it makes people think about what our culture is doing to people's bodies, especially women's bodies.
